Lela Knox-Shanks, a local advocate for caregivers and author, served as one of the keynote speakers at 'Aging with Passion and Purpose: A Conference on Aging' Oct. 18-19 at UNO. Organized by the Department of Gerontology, the two-day conference attracted 200 attendees in the fields of nursing, social work and elder care, among others.
